We've launched our new website - with a dedicated Health & Safety hub
We’re excited to launch our brand-new website — designed to make it easier than ever for clients and employees to find everything they need in one place.
The site now includes a dedicated Health & Safety section, where employees can access up-to-date risk assessments, operating procedures and policy documents, while clients can view our safety standards and operational commitments. Transparency, professionalism and safety are at the heart of everything we do, and this new hub reflects that.
We’ve also expanded our services to include bale wrapping with the addition of a McHale wrapper, offering a complete baling and wrapping service.
Looking ahead, the next twelve months will see further investment in our contracting capabilities as we continue to strengthen and grow our operation.

Spring Round-up 2025
This spring got off to an early start, with paddocks becoming available sooner than in previous years. Lower-than-expected dry matter yields meant ground was cleared earlier, allowing cultivation work to begin ahead of schedule. A settled spell of fine weather through August provided excellent conditions to complete a significant portion of primary cultivation work efficiently and effectively. We’ve also seen increased demand for ploughing this season. Many farmers are recognising the value of rotational ploughing as an effective cultural tool for weed control—particularly where volunteer grass weeds have been an issue. The benefits of incorporating ploughing into the rotation are clear, not only for weed management but also for soil structure and crop performance. In addition, we have been running our own trials with low-disturbance subsoiling across both cropping and grazing grass paddocks. This work aims to assess soil structure improvements and moisture management benefits while minimising surface disruption. We’ll be following up on these trials in autumn to review results and identify how we can integrate this approach to deliver even greater value for our clients in the seasons ahead.

Introducing Contract Farming
As Stafford Agriculture continues to grow, we are pleased to introduce Contract Farming as a new service for the 2025/26 season and beyond. This development builds on our commitment to delivering high-quality agricultural operations across Mid-Canterbury, while offering farmers a more streamlined, consistent approach to managing their cropping and pasture systems. Contract farming allows us to work closely with landowners and managers to deliver a tailored package of operations — from primary cultivation through to drilling, fertilizer applications and seasonal maintenance. By bringing all key tasks under one coordinated service, we can help reduce the pressure of peak workloads, improve timeliness, and support more consistent paddock performance year after year. This service is particularly suited to: Farms looking to outsource full cropping programmes Landowners seeking reliable seasonal management Properties requiring consistent cultivation and drilling timing Clients wanting a single point of contact for all key operations Our approach combines modern, well-maintained machinery, GPS-guided accuracy and the same attention to detail we apply across all of our contracting work. As an owner-operator business, we take pride in clear communication, careful planning and delivering work as if we were doing it for our own land. Over the coming months, we will continue refining our contract farming offering and speaking with clients who wish to secure a place for the season ahead. If you are interested in discussing how contract farming could support your operation, we welcome you to get in touch.
